As someone who has lived away from my hometown for a long time, defining my identity has always been a question deep in my heart. I grew up at No. 8 Jintang Street and spent the first twenty years of my memory here. Now, approaching the age of forty, I am striving to reconnect with this place.

This group of photos was taken on a morning in late September 2026, when I returned to my original home and documented the scenes outside viewed through different windows and doors.

My father passed away in 2013, and I left this place in 2014, never to return. Today, it has become an abandoned building.

As time goes by, I realize that many aspects of my life have changed with age, but whenever I return home and walk around, I notice that this place seems to remain constant. This sense of familiarity brings a quiet comfort, reassuring me that some things can remain anchor-steady even when everything else is in flux.

n this series of photos, I wanted to capture the scenes that have always remained in my memory. The gymnasium, the library, the swimming pool, and my daily walk to school—they all carry fragments of my past and continue to shape my sense of home today.

As an ongoing project that will be continually updated over the years, I hope to capture my family, our home & document my life growing with it
